Dayton welcomes a new principal

The Tippecanoe School Corporation is pleased to announce it has hired Ryan Simmons as the new principal of Dayton Elementary School. He replaces Courtney Wildoner who accepted a position as a leadership program coach with FranklinCovey.

Simmons most recently served as principal of College Corner Union Elementary School at College Corner on the Indiana-Ohio border. He has six years of experience as a sixth-grade teacher in Speedway, Indiana and holds a master's degree and bachelor's degree from Indiana University.

"Ryan successfully served as an elementary principal in an Indiana school district that interestingly incorporates students from both Indiana and Ohio," says TSC Superintendent Dr. Scott Hanback. "The search committee believes that Ryan's rich experiences, as well as his emphasis on student achievement, teacher support and community engagement, will complement ongoing leadership programs and community-school pride at Dayton."

As principal, Simmons will provide leadership over operations and services at the school of almost 400 students and 45 staff members.

"I am so excited to get started at Dayton Elementary School and be a part of TSC. The TSC is such a well-respected corporation and my family and I look forward to being a part of this growing community," says Simmons. "I am eager to meet all of the staff, students, parents and community members and continue the excellence that is already taking place at Dayton Elementary. We will continue with a student-centered approach and will focus on building a community of learners and leaders."
