The Tippecanoe School Corporation is pleased to announce it has named Josh Frauhiger as the new assistant principal at Wea Ridge Elementary School and Hailey Aird as the new assistant principal at Battle Ground Elementary School.

Frauhiger moves into an administrative role at Wea Ridge Elementary replacing Megan Reynolds who is now the principal at Williamsport Elementary School. Frauhiger has 10 years of teaching and coaching experience, serving most recently as a health and physical education teacher at Wea Ridge Middle School and head coach of the McCutcheon Boys Golf team. He is a McCutcheon High School graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a master’s degree from American College of Education.

“While interviewing, it was evident that Mr. Frauhiger would be a great addition to our school,” says Wea Ridge Elementary School Principal Tami Jacobs. “He’s an excellent communicator, knows the community, and his leadership and mentoring experience as a coach will serve our students well.”

As an assistant principal, Frauhiger will be responsible for the school’s positive behavior program, data collection, support staff and other duties at the school of almost 600 students and 70 staff members.

Frauhiger is excited to join the administrative team and looks forward to building relationships with students, parents and staff members: “I am very excited to bring my positive energy, hard-working attitude and passion to Wea Ridge Elementary. I feel my strengths are relationship building and cannot wait to put those strengths to use in my new position.”

Aird comes to Battle Ground Elementary from Sunnyside Intermediate School where she most recently served as an intervention classroom teacher. She replaces Laurie Camp who left to pursue other educational endeavors.

Aird has several years of teaching experience and completed administrative internships in the Lafayette School Corporation and the West Lafayette Community School Corporation. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Central Florida.

“Mrs. Aird’s experience teaching students of all abilities across multiple grade levels will allow her to make an immediate, positive impact at the school,” says Battle Ground Elementary School Principal John Pearl. “She has a strong background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and her experience with multilingual learners will be an asset in our mission to promote excellence in education.”

Aird will facilitate data collection, lead the school’s response to intervention efforts, oversee support staff and other duties at the elementary and intermediate school buildings with 650 students.

Aird says Battle Ground’s reputation as a welcoming and supportive school community attracted her to the position: “I am excited to become part of the Tomahawk family. I am looking forward to getting started on collaborating with the teachers and families to ensure a successful year.”
